The "Laguna" armchair, named after the Italian lakes, is characterized by its elegant structure made of grating upholstered and black wood frame. The design's unique properties lie in its unparalleled comfort and the use of diverse materials such as wood, metal, fabric, and natural fiber. With infinite combinations possible, this armchair can fit into any decor, making it a versatile piece for any setting.
The armchair's production is carried out by the HERVAL group, a large Brazilian furniture manufacturer under the sub-brand Uultis, intended only for high-standard, signed furniture. The armchair's dimensions are 27 inches in height, 35 inches in width, and 33 inches in depth, with a seat height of 16 inches. The materials and techniques used include cane, hardwood, and upholstery.
The design process, which began in the first half of 2021, was a close partnership between Uultis and Aciole Felix. After several briefing meetings and a year of detailing, the final design was launched at the largest furniture fair in Latin America, ABIMAD, in February 2023. The development took place in the city of Brasília, where Felix created the piece, and in the city of Dois Irmãos, where the factory is located.
Throughout the development process, every detail from the style to the most suitable production processes was discussed. The presentations were enriched with high-quality renderings made in Keyshot software, ensuring the manufacturing was 100% faithful to the 3D project. Despite the manufacturer's extensive tools for working in wood, metal, and upholstery, the design process was challenging, pushing the boundaries of production possibilities.
The "Laguna" armchair is not only impressive at first glance but also offers unparalleled comfort. Its firm structure and enveloping seat, combined with the use of diverse materials, make it a standout piece in any decor. This design, which reflects Felix's prodigy and wisdom, has significantly impacted the world with its desirable characteristics, earning it the Golden A' Furniture Design Award in 2023.
